It took me two years to realize that I didn't like the direction Call of Duty had taken since "the end" of Modern Warfare 2019. When the battle royale mode, Warzone, changed color palettes with the introduction of Cold War, I lost all interest in playing it and the standalone and whiled away a few hundred hours in the Zombie mode. The subsequent entry, Vanguard, held some promise but failed to deliver on all fronts. The change in map for Warzone was terrible. The Pacific theater setting, with its trees, barely scaleable mountain, and horrid yellow-green cast, turned my stomach. All in all, I came to appreciate the work that Infinity Ward had done with MW '19. And now their follow-up looms on the horizon, and I would love to abandon all other games and try to get as good my nearly 50-year-old reflexes and gamer sense will allow me.
I apologize for the lack of posts. If you'd been following along, you will most certainly have noticed the discontinuance of the daily entries in the 365 project. I don't really have a good excuse. I've been reading a lot, and this is the first thing I've sat down to write in a months. Another school year's just around the corner, so I'm hoping to pick the pen back up on again on a regular basis. Lack of writing aside, I've been thriving this summer. I've read dozens of excellent books, mastered the fundamentals of French, and taken on a full calisthenics program. Mind and body are as good as they've ever been.
Thank you for keeping up with me. Let's talk more soon, yeah?
