What Jack Does

V interesting mate, I feel there is a market for weighted games paddles then you can kill 2 birds with one stone. Nothing excessive start at 10kg paddles upto about 30kg. Rep it out while gaming, always a winner. (Not suitable for the nintendo wii as 10kg in the grid does leave a mark!!!)
Stay well my friend

Jon!
Thanks for the feedback. I absolutely agree that there is a market for “health” gaming, and I suppose the “Wii Fit” and “Sport” is a step in the right direction.
Third-party makers are producing special gaming paddles for the PS3 that actually look like sports gear: baseball bats, tennis paddles, and so on.
Personally, I keep my gaming and my training separate as the gaming is more a “relax time” for me, but it would certainly be a way to manage the time better for many people!

Hey Nadia,
For sure, and these days I’d say about 80% of my day is full of pleasure!
But I also believe that to really achieve something, there needs to be some sacrifice. Sometimes sacrifice demands things that, on the surface, look and feel bad, but in the long run return great rewards.
And in the long run, I’ve managed to turn whatever “pain” I felt at getting where I was going into pleasure.
I’m a gamer! It’s all about the fun, but sometimes even the fun can be a grind.

Hey budds.
I must say, I’m in the worst shape of my life right now. When I decided to take an intensive
year of arts and maya training I didn’t realize the sacrifice I was making with my health. Sitting
in front of a computer for 18 hours a day was a good workout for my brains, but super bad for my legs,
back and mid-section. I’m still skinny as hell, but I can’t balance for shit and SOMEONE DELETED
MY SPECIAL SKILLS!!! (on a skateboard). So even though it was a super good experience for me to take
a year off from real life and get some hardcore knowledge up in my domepiece, I beleive now is the time
to get back into shape and start riding again. Life is mad real, kid. It’s time to ‘get in the game’.

I know it well. When I first got to Japan I was working like mad and spending 0 time on my personal development.
Hopefully the stuff I post in the article will be “balanced” for the lifestyle of the hardcore gamer AND the hardcore EMPLOYEE in the industry.
When I get to the stage of owning my own game business and producing my own content, I really want to make personal health one of the key human resource policies. I know, I know, most people in the biz now say, “Jack, there’s no game without crunch time” to which I respond, “Bullshit. It’s all about effective management, both on an organizational level AND on a personal level.”
