The First Wall

You might think that after a thousand hours of audiobooks a story could overstay its welcome. Yet the Horus Heresy continues to surprise and delight as I trudge with determination toward its conclusion.

There are significant surprises in Gav Thorpe’s The First Wall. There are moments of real eloquence in the writing, too. These final books in the mammoth saga of the Space Marine civil war are taking on the gravity of historic chronicle, and I’m glad to have put myself through this literary marathon.
