Another recommended reading for "Human Computer Interface" in the can. Norman's Principles are part of the dogma necessary to become a qualified designer, and with good reason. The book presents Norman's ideas in a clear and concise manner, and the last chapter should be required reading for anyone taking a design course. A little dated, Norman does manage to predict "smart homes" and the Internet, and his longing for a "pocket computer" seems quaint now that we all have them, but it did make me consider how much technology I take for granted in my day-to-day.
