“There is a difference between having a genuine attention deficit disorder or compulsive behavior, and engaging in aimless pursuits to come up with social media posts that attempt to portray an interesting and fulfilling lifestyle. I know at least three middle-aged white men who confuse their lack of discipline for a popular neurodivergence, and their flailing provides no end of amusement. I shouldn’t be reveling in their ineptitude; a kinder, gentler me would foster open communication with them and see if I could steer them toward accomplishing something with their lives… but to the dark me that all sounds far too much like work.”
